Our Beliefs
We are a Bible Church that has no creed but Christ and no authority but the Bible.
The Infallibility of Scripture
(2 Timothy 3:16–17)“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
(2 Peter 1:21) “For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
God’s Creation of Mankind
(Genesis 2:7) “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”
The Sinful Nature of Mankind
(Romans 7:18) “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.”
(Romans 3:23) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
The Absolute Deity of Jesus Christ
(Colossians 2:9) “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”
(John 1:1-2) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.”
(John 1:14) “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
(John 14:7) “If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
(Philippians 2:5-7) “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus, who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made into human likeness.”
The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ
(Isaiah 7:14) “Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Emanuel.”
(Luke 1:30-35) “But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name of Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.” “How will this be?” Mary asked the angel, “Since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.”
The Substitutionary Death of Jesus Christ
(Isaiah 53:6) “We all, like sheep, have gone astray; each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the inquiry of us all.”
(1 Peter 3:18) “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.”
(Romans 3:25–26) “God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished; he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”
The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ
(1 Corinthians 15:3–4) “For what I received, I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”
(John 20:27-28) “Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
The Literal Return of Jesus Christ to Earth
(John 14:3) “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, that you also may be where I am.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:13–16) “Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”
The Resurrection & Assignment of All People to Heaven or Hell
(John 5:28–29) “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out - those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.”
(Revelation 20:10,15) “And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
(John 14:1-3) “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, that you also may be where I am.”
Baptism by Immersion Following Christs Example
(Acts 2:38) “Peter replied, Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
(Mark 16:16) “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
(Romans 6:3–4) “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into this death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Communion
(Mark 14:22–24) “While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks, and offered it to them, and they all drank from it. “This is the blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them.”
(Acts 20:7) “On the first day of the week, we came together to break bread.”
Salvation is Only Through Jesus Christ
(John 14:6) “Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:9–10) “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.”
Marriage
(Genesis 2:24) “For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.”
(Matthew 19:4-6) “Haven’t you read,” he replied, that at the beginning the Creator "made them male and female" and said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh"? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
Father, Son, Holy Spirit
(Matthew 28:18-20) “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 3:16-17) “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment, heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
